That pretty much sums up how we feel about our visits to Delaware- "such a treat." I am beyond grateful for my relationship with my incomparable Too-daddy and Mary Catherine and it is always such a sweet time just being with them. They love to watch our girls just be themselves. Nothing bothers them about their antics, and they truly delight in them. Their home is a refreshing place of respite we've come to realize, where we seem to just leave the stress of the daily grind, and even get filled up during the drive there and back, taking in some of the beautiful sights of the "country." (Or as close to it as we get!)
Then there's Fifer Orchards. Another special place to us! It was founded by Charles Frederick Fifer, the father of Mary Catherine's late husband, Fred Fifer, and the Fifers still working there couldn't be any sweeter. We have loved our annual trips to the farm for their Fall Festival since Maelee was 2, and try to visit as often as we can in the spring, too. Mary, Fred's sister, always takes such good care of us, and we just have a blast. We left mid-morning a few Saturdays ago and headed straight to the festival and even the ground was wet from earlier rain fall and the wind was down right cold, we still had a great time.
Lilee was over the moon with the little water pump that raced yellow duckies through pvc pipes, and she enjoyed just about every other activity there was- including her ride on the big horse name Joe! Maelee's favorite was the petting zoo, as usual, where she continued to name each animal. She also loved her date with daddy through the corn maze!
It was another great time at the Fifer Farm Fall Festival! We enjoyed our favorite Grotto's pizza that night for dinner and got to see Sam & Kim and their boys the next morning. It was a pretty special weekend!

The Thursday before Halloween, Lilee's preschool class had a party with costumes and all. Lilee was the sweetest Cinderella I've ever seen and she had a blast with her school pals!

The girls were just tickled with their costumes this year. Lilee LOVES Dory so this was perfect for her and Maelee is still fascinated by sea creatures. She initially said she wanted to be a squid, but when I found this crazy jelly fish hat on Amazon, I asked if she wanted to be a squid or jelly fish and she excitedly decided on jellyfish! All we needed to do is dress her a blue top and pants, sparkly blue tutu, and twist some pretty ribbon for more tentacles- done! We had her clear polk-dotted umbrella that could've worked but we knew she would get tired of holding the umbrella after one house so we LOVED the idea of a hat. She was thrilled over all the compliments :)
It was a fun evening- no tricks, just treats!
