Talk about a short but sweet vacation! We only stayed three nights at Deep Creek Lake at the end of December, but lots of memories were made in those few days. We are so grateful for my cousin Colleen's family's gracious generosity in letting us stay at their beautiful home!
We had a relaxing, beautiful drive on Christmas afternoon and got in to the breathtaking winter wonderland early evening- in time for a delicious, warm chili dinner, some final gifts, and even a quick soak in the hot tub for the girls and Nana & Pop-Pop!

We made it!
More presents!
Time for a soak!
Lilee was not so sure at first, but warmed up eventually!
They were a riot!

The next day was spent with a mix of relaxation and activity- we put on our brave faces that afternoon for a couple hours of snow tubing! Steve and I held tight to that inner tube in front of us (that held one of our children!), and I especially held on for dear life going down the hill that seemed WAY higher from the top, and slid WAY faster than I expected! Really, I was terrified on that first run down! But, praise the Lord, there were no injuries, and even though there was some fear and anxiety, all the kids went more than once and Steve probably got over a dozen runs in!
Some snowman building before the tubing!
Down we go!
These two LOVED it!
And we were so proud of Maelee for talking herself into going again!
Tired and happy after a big afternoon!
Delectable hot cocoa topped off with some delicious, homemade marshamallows from a friend!
Perfect way to end the day.
The next day gave us more play in the snow, and then we all went to see the new Spiderman movie, Into the Spider Verse, followed by pizza at a place with a little arcade in the downstairs section.
The kids LOVED their time with Uncle Dan!
And Maelee was pretty pumped to be able to feed deer off the desk!
Beautiful views off the balcony.
And spacious enough for a snowball fight!
So picturesque!
There was even the sweetest little creek right next to the house!
SNOWBALL FIGHT!
Getting in as much snow time before it completely melts!
And we all loved the movie!
And the kiddos loved all the games after the pizza!
S'mores to top off our last evening!
Delish!
And that's pretty much a wrap on our mini vacation to Deep Creek Lake! It really was such a sweet time for all 8 of us. There was time to enjoy the beauty of the snow and fun activities in the snow, as well as just some downtime. We are looking forward to going again sometime!
