Fire Stations, Animals, Celebrations, & Friends

May had quite a bit of rain but lots of sunny moments, too.  One of its biggest highlights was our quick trip to DE over the last weekend, which I'll save for a post of its own.  This one will have an assortment of pictures from a Girl Scout's outing to our littlest girl outing all of the items in her crib one afternoon when refusing a nap... :)

Maelee's had a handful of Girl Scout's meeting throughout the year and especially loved their visit to the local Fire Station which is right across the street from her school.

Getting ready to walk over!

The girls loved seeing where these brave men & women cook and sleep during their shifts
and were so sweet and grateful for their service!

With neighbors and friends, Xavi & Kaia

A fun little picnic at a local park with Xavi!

And now some cute pics of Lilee with her little friends!

Just relaxing with Logan :)

Patiently waiting with Alden

Sweet snuggles with Chloe

Lots of kiddos celebrating sweet Holland on her FIRST birthday!!!

More happy faces :)

We made it to the zoo several weeks back and especially loved watching the tigers, the orangutans, the pandas, and the sloths!

The hungry tiger had a pretty persistent roar that got Lilee roaring right back! It was adorable.

So cool to watch the little baby monkey cling to mama's belly!

And sweet to watch this little lady cling to her daddy's arms :)

And SO cool to watch the orangutans rope crawl overhead!

Pointing at the sloth.
Sleeping in the box, of course.

The sand cat- one of Lilee's favorites!

And of course both girls loved the carousel!
Although Lilee only wanted to ride on the bench this time!

Maelee loved the real life fennec fox so much that she got a stuffed animal one at the souvenir shop
and was tickled to ride one on the carousel!

And Lilee chose the naked mole rat!
Anglerfish and naked mole rats... these girls! :)

We had another sweet Mother's Day this year where I had the opportunity to play with the worship band at church to start off the day, got some sweet Maelee-girlie time painting each other's nails while Lilee napped, then had a delicious dinner at Il Porto's in Old Town (where our rehearsal dinner was almost 13 years ago!!!) with my favorite company.
She did a pretty good job!

Makeshift bib

Sweet smiles :)

My faves :)

SO beyond blessed to have this amazing woman as a mama and
to have these precious girls call me mama :)
Super special to celebrate Mother's Day with all of them!

Fun morning with Nana!

Fun shopping trip with daddy!

Watching Gracie for a couple days- these two don't pay much attention to each other!

Rocket fun at a nearby park

Maelee's last gymnastics class of the spring session invited parents to watch the kiddos show off what they had learned!

So strong!

Our "Dinner Club" in May was Mediterranean fare and we took on the task of dessert.  After we found out it would be one of the guy's birthdays and that his favorite dessert combo was peanut butter and chocolate, we figured we'd try to tackle a peanut butter and chocolate baklava!  It was quite a tedious process, but it turned out great!

We rarely take pictures of our food, but couldn't resist this one :)

Enjoying the neighbor's pool :)

Memorial Day breakfast with Nana & Pop-Pop

And a Memorial Day bbq with our little "block"

Thoroughly enjoying our strawberry pie "bars"  :)

Most of those items were either in her crib or on the shelf next to her crib. This is what happens to them when she doesn't want to nap.  Sigh.

Slideshow of May pics:

Anyhow, these months keep flying past and I can't believe Maelee finishes Kindergarten next week! And then summertime will be in full swing. Maelee is getting to be more and more like a big kid and Lilee more and more like a little kid. And they are both so loved!!!
