To start off some Halloween fun, we took in the annual "Halloween Howl" at a nearby park where we all loved watching dogs parade around in costumes. Not much cuter than doggies dressed up.

And then for some pumpkin carving! Starting with a pumpkin carving night with our church community group where Steve made an impressive T-Rex named "Buddy" for Maelee, one of her favorite characters from Dinosaur Train.
She was so excited when she saw him that he had to sit next to her on the couch :)

My carving attempt- Hello Kitty!
And Steve's very impressive Great White Shark, another request of our little girl...

Can't carve pumpkins without roasting some seeds!

A week ago, we had the awesome pleasure of taking in another performance of the Big Apple Circus at Lincoln Center, courtesy of an old co-worker who was able to get us free tix. We all had a great time!

The last weekend of the month we enjoyed an elementary school "Octoberfest" at one of our best pal's school where Maelee again LOVED all the bounce houses!

And finally, several shots of our little, blue T-Rex! Maelee's been wanting to dress up like her favorite dinosaur for a while now, but it had to be blue... Finding a blue T-Rex costume (and one she'd actually wear at that!) was proving quite difficult so I instead took to Etsy to put together a few things to make it work. And thankfully, she can pretty much use everything again for everyday wear or just play! Our somewhat "interpretive," prehistoric creature:

Trying it out for a special Halloween class
The big day itself included a fun trip to nearby Asphalt Green Park and Rec Center, then some NYC style trick-or-treating in some nearby stores and restaurants.

So excited to see a Great White Shark!!!

Her best T-Rex ROAR!

It was a sweet day and we have to admit, we do love that our little lady's pick for a costume this year not only included a dinosaur, but a BLUE dinosaur at that! She certainly has her "girlie" moments, but we love that she's not only into princesses and pink! :)
